New FEMA map shows California has most high risk areas in nation

VIDEO: The Bay Area has seen more than its share of natural disasters in the past few years, from deadly wildfires to widespread flooding. To help identify the areas at highest risk, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was directed to create a map showing the risk level by community. California has the most high risk areas in the nation.

Suspect driving stolen WSDOT asphalt truck leads police on chase ending in crash and vehicle fire near Ritzville

VIDEO: All lanes on eastbound I-90 at mile post 255 are reopened after a police pursuit ended in a single vehicle crash and fire. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) confirms one of their asphalt trucks was stolen on Tuesday morning in Washtucna, causing a nearly four-hour lane closure.

Spokane County looking to connect local Oregon Road Fire victims with caseworkers

Many people in the Elk community are now left without a home due to the Oregon Road Fire. The community wants to rebuild, but some are underinsured or don't have insurance at all. Because of this, a community meeting was held Tuesday night to direct those affected by the wildfires to valuable resources.

Progress update on City of Seattle’s Health 99 overdose response team pilot

On Tuesday, Mayor Bruce Harrell joined Councilmember Lisa Herbold, Seattle Fire Department Chief Harold Scoggins, emergency medical responders, and other health leaders to give a progress update on the Health 99 overdose response unit, which began operations in July 2023. Created following Mayor Harrell’s Executive Order issued in April to address the public health and safety impacts of the opioid and fentanyl crisis, Health 99 is a pilot program in the Seattle Fire Department for dispatching an additional unit to overdose responses to provide follow-up outreach services to individuals experiencing an overdose.
