Investigators looking into how RV fire started after it erupts in Seattle

VIDEO: Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an RV to erupt into flames early Thursday morning. The big RV fire started off Aurora Avenue North and McGraw Street around 1:15 a.m. Seattle fire said the blaze erupted and threatened to spread to a nearby vacant building. Fortunately, its crews managed to keep it from spreading and no one was hurt.

Containment improves on Schneider Springs Fire in Yakima County, 73,403 acres burned

Firefighters have improved containment on the Schneider Springs Fire that has burned more than 73,000 acres in Yakima County. On Thursday, officials said the fire burning northwest of Naches has burned 73,403 acres and is eight percent contained. There are nearly 600 firefighters working to contain the fire using six air resources, 45 engines, 6 dozers, and 24 other fire apparatus.

Auburn firefighters union opposes vaccine mandate

The union representing the Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters came out against the COVID-19 vaccine mandate that was issued by Gov. Jay Inslee. Inslee issued the proclamation on Aug. 9. The mandate carries the full weight of the law and prohibits healthcare workers from working if they have not been vaccinated by Oct.

Structure Fire Sends Smoke Over South Wenatchee

Residents of a mobile home in the 200 block of Boodry Street in Wenatchee are now displaced after a fire Wednesday morning completely destroyed the structure. Chelan County Fire District 1 Captain Al Torres said they received the call around 10:40 am and when crews arrived the building was fully involved.

Fire crews up containment on Twenty-Five Mile Fire near Chelan

The Twenty-Five Mile Fire near Chelan is up to 18 percent contained while some evacuations have been reduced. The fire has burned more than 11,000 acres, according to incident command. More than 600 personnel are assigned to the fire. Fire command has announced the evacuation level has been downgraded to Level 2 for South Lakeshore Drive.
