Washington State Funds Bothell Fire Stations Replacement Project

Washington state has recently funded a replacement project for Fire Stations 42 and 45 located in Bothell designed to mitigate the health stresses for first responders. The project aimed at enhancing the well-being of its firefighters and improving emergency response capabilities. The Miller Hull Partnership, in collaboration with BNBuilders, OAC Services, Inc.

Fire department searching for person of interest in series of fires in California neighborhood

VIDEO: Police are searching for a possible serial arsonist in Reseda after at least six fires were reported in the area overnight. Most of the fires took place around the Reseda Boulevard and Vanowen Street intersection. The first was reported shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, and the rest happened within the following two hours.

Fire academy in Texas unveils antique helmet collection at 9/11 ceremony

VIDEO: Kilgore College held a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at their fire academy today. They chose this day to unveil a collection of antique firefighter helmets donated to the college that are now on display at the fire academy. A lot of things come to mind with the word collection, and firefighter helmets may not be top of the list, but for former firefighter Addy Hadaway it was a no-brainer.

Tiny, bug-like robot created by university engineers in Colorado has potential to aid first responders

PHOTOS: A little bug-inspired robot created by a team of engineers at the University of Colorado Boulder has the potential to someday aid first responders during disasters. The robot’s name is CLARI, which stands for Compliant Legged Articulated Robotic Insect. It was built in the image of a bug. It’s tiny, squishable and can shape-shift to fit through different gaps.

Foam 331: First Responder to the Nation’s Worst Aviation Crisis

PHOTOS: At 9:37 am Eastern Time on September 11, 2001, two fire captains—Michael Defina and John Durrer—from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Fire & Rescue Department, based at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, were standing on the departures level of the main terminal. They were responding to a minor vehicle accident, but their attention quickly turned toward a low rumble, followed by smoke rising to the northwest.
