City of Spokane inks new four-year deal for ambulance service

Amid calls for continuity from city leaders, the Spokane City Council approved a four-year contract with American Medical Response for ambulance services on Monday. The new agreement maintains the significant price hike hesitantly approved by council members under a one-year bridge contract last year.

Needing air: Local fire department seeking $25,000 in donations to replace old air respirators

Grant County Fire District 7 is in dire need of air in terms of updating the apparatuses that provide oxygen to firefighters when navigating through thick smoke during a blaze. The High Rollers Auxiliary is the fundraising liaison for the fire department. For the first time, the auxiliary club has moved its fundraising efforts online; a GoFundMe has been started.

Oklahoma City (OK) Fire Station 6 Honored

Quail Creek Bank, the sponsor of Proud to Serve, is recognizing Fire Station 6 for its role in the community, reports KFOR 4.

Fire Station 6 also includes an Oklahoma City firefighters museum that features a 1910 American LaFrance engine.

Logan (UT) Municipal Council Tables Proposal for Fire Station

The Logan Municipal Council voted to table the resolution of building a new fire station until more information and data can be provided, reports The Herald Journal.

The fire chief provided the council a presentation that detailed possible sites for a future station, including his preference for the site. But, this option has multiple surrounding business owners concerned about loss of parking and customers.

Wilkes-Barre (PA) Voters for Fire Department Loans

Wilkes-Barre voted yes on a statewide referendum concerning municipal fire departments, reports WNEP 16.

That new tool is access to a loan program that until this vote was only open to volunteer departments.
