Webb Fire grows beyond 15 acres outside East Wenatchee

A brushfire that started in the area of the Greater Wenatchee Regional Landfill outside East Wenatchee quickly went to three alarms at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Wenatchee Valley Fire Chief Brian Brett told NCWLIFE high winds contributed to rapid spread of the fire, which hit 15 acres quickly.

Follow-up: Hours after deadly North Seattle blaze, city votes to crack down on vacant buildings

VIDEO: Hours after flames tore through a vacant building in North Seattle and left one person dead, the City Council unanimously passed an ordinance aimed at preventing empty buildings from becoming death traps. According to data from the Seattle Fire Department in 2021, city crews responded to 70 fires at derelict properties.

VIDEOS: Some evacuees cleared to return home after 8-alarm fire at California construction site

A massive fire at a building under construction forced evacuations Monday in Redwood City. More than five hours after the fire started firefighters were able to contain the fire to the originating structure, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Although "under control," the area is in a 24-hour fire watch.

South Carolina city begins construction on first all-electric firehouse in the Southeast

VIDEO: Once fully constructed, Charlotte's newly-reconstruction Firehouse #30 will be the first all-electric firehouse in the Southeast, according to the city of Charlotte. Ground for the new fire station was broken Monday in a ceremony at the site, which is located adjacent to the Charlotte Fire Department's training center on Shopton Road.

Near tragedy guides Kansas firefighter to make fire trucks
