Sourdough Fire in the Ross National Recreation Area stagnates with cooler weather

The Sourdough fire in the Ross National Recreation area has had minimal growth with the arrival of cooler temperatures and light rain. The fire remains at 6,234 acres with 25% containment. Park officials have reopened some trails, and camps including Diablo and Gorge overlooks, East Bank, and Thunder Knob trails.

2 killed in apparent street race crash into firetruck in California; 4 crewmembers injured

VIDEO: A driver and passenger were killed in an apparent street race when their vehicle crashed into a firetruck, injuring four crewmembers, in West Compton Tuesday. The crash was reported around 12:30 a.m. as the engine company was responding to a medical incident, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson Craig Little said.

Maryland fire station damaged after ambulance ignites in engine bay, officials say

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A Prince George's County fire station was damaged after an ambulance caught fire early Sunday morning, the agency said. "We do have our share of fires in Prince George’s County, but running a fire within one of our own fire stations is very unique," Department Public Information Director Alan Doubleday said.
