2-year-old Marysville child in critical condition after falling 6 feet from window onto concrete

A Marysville child is in the hospital after falling 6 feet from a first story window onto concrete. Marysville firefighters responded Tuesday afternoon to reports of a toddler who had fallen from the window. The child was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was in critical condition Tuesday night.

Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue considers relocating Silverdale Way station

Kitsap County is working to acquire land in Silverdale currently in the hands of DNR, and Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue is also eying the land as a possible location for a new station. The forested 27-acre DNR parcel near Clear Creek was slated to be traded to a developer to generate revenue for the state’s Common School Trust.

Pasco County (FL) to Break Ground on Fire Station

Pasco County is breaking ground on a fire station that will be a 16,000 square foot facility including full living quarters and four bays for emergency equipment, reports Bay News 9.

The new fire station will provide quicker emergency response times and will be a hub for specialty fire services. The fire station will include a containment area where firefighters are able to rinse dangerous carcinogens off their bodies and equipment after calls, so those don’t get inside the living quarters.

Pasco Fire will construct four brand new fire stations with funds from Go For Pasco, and will also reconstruct five existing stations as well as its training facility.

Miami-Dade (FL) Fire Station Reopens Years After Mold Issues

Miami-Dade County has remodeled and reopened a fire station after serious mold problems, reports NBC Miami.

The fire department posted to Facebook, “Miami-Dade Fire Rescue cut the ribbon officially opening the new Station 29 in the City of Sweetwater. Fire Chief Alan Cominsky was joined by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava, Commissioners Jose “Pepe” Diaz and Oliver Gilbert and Sweetwater Mayor Orlando Lopez for the occasion proclaiming the two-story, 11,248 square-foot firehouse open for business. The Cuban American Veterans Association presented Station 29 with two flags, one of which was raised for the opening by Firefighters Jorge Gonzalez and Michael Ellis, both military veterans. Ladder 29, Rescue 29 and Battalion 12 will respond from the new firehouse with a total of eight uniformed personnel, 24/7. Station 29 is dedicated to the memory of retired Firefighter Juan Torga.”

Tulare County (CA) Fire Equipment Stolen

The Tulare County Fire Department reported a theft from one of its fire engines, reports Fox 26 News.

A Stihl gas chain saw and Husqvarna K90 rotary saw valued at approximately $1,549.00 were taken. A light blue, two-door Mini Cooper was seen in the area when the theft occurred.
