The City of Lynden has named its new fire chief.
Going from eight candidates to three finalists, the City of Lynden selected Mike Noonan as the successful candidate to replace Mark Billmire, who announced late last year that he would retire in 2024 after three-plus decades as a firefighter.
With the announcement of Billmire’s retirement, the City of Lynden, in collaboration with Turner HR Services, began to recruit for its next fire chief in June.
