Rapid City (SD) Celebrates New Engine with ‘Push-In’ Ceremony

According to a report from KELO, the Rapid City (SD) Fire Department (RCFD) welcomed its latest engine to Fire Station 5 with several ceremonies, which included a a blessing; a spray-over; and a “push-in,” with crews pushing the engine into the station by hand.

Each time the RCFD receives a new engine, a similar ceremony is performed.

The new truck will replace an aging 2010 engine, which will be relegated to backup duties in the event of a large incident or if another truck is in maintenance.

Gaffney (SC) Fire Dept. Dedicates New Quint to Citizens

The Gaffney Fire Department dedicated a new quint, the culmination of a three-year project, according to a report broadcast by FOXCAROLINA.

The new truck, built by E-ONE, is dedicated to the citizens of Gaffney and is expected to be around for about 25 years, the television station reported.

Firefighter Injured Battling 3-Alarm Blaze in Massachusetts; 6 Adults, 4 Kids Displaced

VIDEO: A firefighter was injured while battling a 3-alarm blaze in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood on Monday afternoon. The fire was first reported around 5 p.m. in a 6-family home at the corner of Southwood and Edgewood streets. Heavy flames and smoke could be seen upon arrival. Aerial video from the scene showed numerous ladder trucks and other fire apparatus surrounding the scene.

Colorado firefighter inspires change for colleagues battling breast cancer

Insurance group donates vintage fire engine to New York fire department

VIDEO: A 115-year-old fire engine has been on display downtown since 2006, but today it returned to its rightful owner, the Utica Fire Department. It was the very first fire engine the city ever purchased back in 1906 and It took 3 horses to move the engine. It was sold for scrap in 1938, but was never dismantled.
