Walla Walla police, paramedics save 1-year-old from choking

Walla Walla first responders saved a baby from choking on Saturday. According to the Walla Walla Police Department, they got a call about a medical emergency in which a 1-year-old was choking and bleeding from the nose and mouth. Officers responded to help but faced another issue when they got to the home.

Moses Lake liquor store loses everything in fire

The owners of the Moses Lake Liquor Store are picking up the pieces after a fire ravaged the space late Saturday night. Officials with the Moses Lake Fire Department say they responded to the scene at around 11 p.m. Firefighters say smoke was billowing out of the building and flames could be seen consuming the back of the structure.

Spokane Fire District 8 buys automatic CPR machines with CARES Act funding

Spokane Fire District 8 received automatic CPR machines thanks to CARES Act funding. These battery-powered devices provide continuous chest compressions on anyone needing CPR, which the Fire District says will limit first responders’ exposure to COVID-19 when responding to emergency calls. The devices were bought with CARES Act funding and will be on all Fire District 8 engines.

Virginia Firefighters Hurt in Fire Engine Rollover

Four Henrico County firefighters hurt in response crash

HENRICO COUNTY, Virginia – WTVR reports that four Henrico County firefighters were injured when their fire engine overturned while responding to a call on Sunday morning.

The injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

The fire engine was traveling north on Woodman Road responding to a call for an unconscious person when it spun on the road, traveled off the paved roadway, and overturned, according to a Henrico Fire spokesperson.

Conditions of the roads were snow-covered and very slippery. No other vehicles were involved.

North Carolina Firefighters Hurt in Fire Engine Rollover

Engine overturns on icy interstate

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina – WLOS reports that Asheville were hurt when their fire engine overturned on an icy interstate Saturday evening.

Officials said that by Sunday morning all the firefighters had been released from the hospital and are resting at home.

The crash occurred on I-26 between Exits 37 and 40, at approximately 8:30 p.m.
