After 19 years on the job Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue Chief John Sinclair announced that he will retire on Dec. 31.
Chief Sinclair became Chief of Kittitas County Fire District 2 in 2005 and oversaw the district's merger with the City of Ellensburg to become Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue in 2007, according to a KVFR press release on his retirement.

Seattle firefighters responded to Lake Union when two houseboats caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.
Crews responded to the 1800 block of Westlake Avenue North where two houseboats were on fire, according to Seattle Fire. The fire extended to an adjacent building.
