VIDEO: Wildlife officers and firefighters managed to come up with a solution after a bear fell asleep in a tree after being tranquilized. Colorado Parks and Wildlife first responded to a home on Alameda Parkway and Bear Creek Road at 9 a.m. on Saturday for a call about a bear in a tree. Twelve hours later, the 350 lb.

Six people were injured -- four of them critically -- as people jumped from the third story to escape flames burning through their building in Seattle early Monday morning.
911 dispatchers received multiple calls for the fire that broke out in the 2400 block of Aurora Ave. North just before 5 a.m., according to Seattle Fire.

The Yakima Fire Department responded to two fires at private properties early Sunday, including one with estimated damages amounting to $200,000.
The fire department was called to a fire in the 6600 block of North Glacier Court in Yakima at 3:47 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release. Upon arriving, crews found “the front of the house and a row of arborvitae involved in a large fire that resulted in ash falling down over a 5-block area.

A 10,000 acre wildfire led to Level 2 evacuations for the town of Mansfield, located in Douglas County, WA. Those notices were in place for the town of Mansfield and approximately 10 residences west of Mansfield.
Crews were able to hold the fire through the overnight hours, and into Sunday morning. As of Sunday morning, the fire was still 3 miles southwest of Mansfield.

Douglas County Fire District 2 crews responded to a brush fire call that was quickly changed to a structure fire in the 300 block of South Kent Court in East Wenatchee around 1:00 pm Friday.
Chief Dave Baker says that when crews first arrived, an unidentified Central Washington Asphalt employee was in a water tender spraying water onto arborvitae trees that were ablaze.
