Monroe firefighters rescue little girl found hiding inside burning home

Firefighters rescued a little girl they found hiding inside a closed toy chest in a burning home Sunday in Monroe, emergency officials said. The drama unfolded at about 11:10 a.m. when Snohomish County Fire District 7 was dispatched to a residential house fire in the 16500 block of 154th Street SE in Monroe.

Spokane Fire Department teams up with local business to bring pizzas to families

Spokane firefighters spent Saturday turning their fire trucks into pizza delivery trucks to provide food for families across the community. It started when Peace Pie Pizzeria offered to provide a meal for first responders at the Spokane Fire Department. Owner Isaac Houger said the firefighters had a different idea.

Motorhome in Benton County catches fire just after owner filled it with fuel and propane

A man and his two dogs are safe after his motorhome caught fire Saturday afternoon on highway 225 just south of highway 240. “The gentleman got his motorhome running, filled it up with fuel and propane, was taking it for a test drive and it caught on fire,” said Benton County Fire Captain Adrian Kallio.

Snohomish County forms SAFE team to expand emergency outreach during COVID-19

Snohomish County is expanding outreach efforts to people experiencing homelessness throughout the county through a new pilot program, the SnoCo Agencies for Engagement (SAFE) team. The SAFE team includes physicians, community paramedics, social workers, and law enforcement officers. The SAFE team is visiting encampments and areas where people are known to congregate to assess individuals for COVID-19 symptoms and connect them to services as needed.
