Arlington Fire Department's 2019 Santa Run Breaks Record for Monetary Donations

Arlington's annual Santa Run for 2019 ended on December 15th with 11,391 pounds of food collected and a record breaking $2,213 in monetary donations for the Arlington Community Food Bank. The Arlington Santa Run is a 30-year-old community tradition that runs for 10 nights in December to bring Santa and a bit of holiday cheer to the Arlington community.

Kennewick Fire Department reaches 10,000 calls in a year for the first time in its history

The Kennewick Fire Department has had a record-breaking more than 10,000 calls this year; firefighters say it's the first time the number has reached five digits. The department says it runs the highest amount of calls in the region. With five stations and six crews, Kennewick firefighters cover all 911 EMS, ambulance transport and firefighting duties in the area — including Finley.

A wrap: Toys for Joy program in Kent collects more than 5,000 gifts for local children

The Kent firefighters’ annual Toys for Joy program collected more than 5,000 toys for local children this holiday season. Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, Kent Firefighters Local 1747 and the Kent Firefighters Foundation collected, sorted, wrapped and delivered – on Friday morning – the new toys to needy families in the community, including at the Kent Food Bank, Maple Valley Food Bank and the SeaTac Holiday of Hope program.

Follow Up: Benton County firefighter speaks out after fire burns his home; community helps rebuild

A Benton County Fire District #1 volunteer firefighter, along with his wife and 5 children, are now without a home after most of it was ruined by a fire. A GoFundMe created for the family states that while on vacation, the Fryer family learned there was a fire in their home Tuesday morning that caused extensive smoke and heat damage.

Community, Spokane firefighters help stock Santa Store at Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital

There was a shortage of 'dad' gifts at Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital's Santa Store Friday and the community stepped up to stock it. Sacred Heart reached out to 4 News Now, and we reached out to our viewers. It was the Spokane Firefighters that came to the rescue, again. The Santa Store is for pediatric patients to shop, at no cost, for a gift for their family members.
