Three treated for injuries after fire in Longview

Multiple vehicles ignited under a carport in the 3800 block of Ocean Beach Highway early Saturday morning and spread to apartment units upstairs, according to the Longview Fire Department. Three people were treated after the fire: one for a seizure, one for difficult breathing and one for high blood pressure, according to a press release.

Spokane Valley firefighters say 6,500 gallons of chemical leaked from rail car Friday

Firefighters are investigating after a chemical leak from a train car in Spokane Valley. On Friday, Oct. 25, someone called the fire department after seeing a red fluid leaking from a rail car at Kemira Water Solutions at 2317 N. Sullivan Road. Crews later learned that the chemical was ferric chloride and it had been leaking for approximately 30 minutes.

East Link Job Site In Bellevue Shut Down After Worker Seriously Injured

A worker was seriously injured after shoring equipment fell on him at an East Link light rail construction site Thursday, according to Bellevue Fire. Firefighters responded to a rescue call off Bellevue Way Southeast, north of the Interstate 90 on-ramp, just before 11 a.m. Crews were able to pull the man from the debris, and medics rushed him to a Seattle hospital.

Firestorm over massive pile of fire wood in Lake Stevens; Fire Marshal concerned

A man in Lake Stevens is in a back and forth battle with the city over a huge pile of wood on his property. Shane McDaniel says the city is trying to fine him tens of thousands of dollars because the pile is too high. The city claims it's a fire hazard. McDaniel says more than 100 other people helped him split it, and that they donate it to people in need.
