PHOTOS: A fire burning in a remote area on the north end of Lake Chelan likely won't be contained until the end of October. The Pioneer Fire is burning on national forest and private land about 30 miles up lake from the town of Chelan. This fire has been burning since June 8. At 3:00 p.m. on July 10, the first was reported to be 12,265 acres in size.

PHOTOS: A historic building went up in flames, breaking many hearts for residents in Decker, Indiana. The fire destroyed the former Decker high school. The old Decker school holds many memories to the community. "We used to roll, skate, jump rope, hopscotch, and play in the trees. There's still one tree left over there that we used to play on," said Decker resident Yolanda Lane.

Biden reiterated his view of the crucial role fire fighters play in communities big and small. “The only thing that saves fire fighters is more fire fighters,” he said in an Oval Office signing.
