Deputy (IN) Fire Station Damaged in Fire

It is actually a volunteer firehouse and is not continuously manned, so no one was there when the fire started.

The fire company had four trucks in that building, but they were only able to get one out.Fire crews from all over came to help, including from Jefferson, Scott and Jennings counties.

Quincy (MI) Needs Funding for Fire Apparatus

A study by the consulting firm Emergency Vehicle Response found that the current fleet is well beyond its front-line service life and that a top priority was the replacement of a rescue engine that was in poor condition.  

Pierce Manufacturing made the only bid at over $712,000. With the addition of equipment and funds set aside for contingencies, the total cost of the project was over $750,000.

Anchorage Fire Department Uses Bond Money to Purchase Three New Fire Apparatus

The $2.62 million Anchorage Fire Service Area bond, which was on the ballot as Proposition 5, included $1.8 million for the new fire trucks, which will respond to fires, car accidents and other emergencies. 

 

With older trucks, firefighters have to step up onto the fire truck to get hoses. With the new truck, firefighters can remain on the ground because the truck lowers about 4 inches. A pump panel, which controls the flow of water and foam, is also well lit compared to older trucks.

Tulalip Fire brings Santa to neighborhoods

The Tulalip Bay Fire Department decorated one of their fire engines with Christmas lights and brought Santa out to local neighborhoods as part of their annual Santa Run. The tradition was held on Dec. 14, 15 and 16 this year and serves as a way to spread holiday cheer and as a food drive. “Besides the weather, the first day went really well,” said Patrick Dinneen, a Tulalip Bay firefighter and one of the main organizers of this year’s event.

Lewis County Fire Officials Concerned by Fatal House Fires, Divulge Best Safety Practices

Lewis County has in the last few years experienced what one fire official called an unusually high number of fire-related deaths. Eleven people died in Lewis County house fires between 2015, 2016 and 2017, and among them there were three triple-fatality fires, bucking a trend that says most fatal fires result in one death.
