E-ONE Introduces the New TITAN 6x6 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Vehicle

REV Group, a manufacturer of industry-leading specialty vehicle brands and a leading provider of aftermarket parts and services, is proud to introduce the new TITAN® 6X6 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicle under its E-ONE fire apparatus brand.

The TITAN® 6X6 is the second configuration in E-ONE’s new line of ARFF products. With the 6x6 configuration and its new, optional, 65-foot high reach extendable turret (HRET), the TITAN 6X6 EXT offers additional capabilities and performance for today’s first responders.

With a core focus on safety, reliability, functional design and the goal of delivering a product that provides a more advanced way to respond, the new TITAN® series offers industry-leading performance in measurable categories including acceleration, braking, dynamic stability and pumping performance.

The E-ONE TITAN® 6X6 and 6x6 EXT provide increased:

  • STORAGE with an unmatched total of 320 cubic feet including a full transverse compartment
  • OPTIONS with the E-ONE 65-foot extendable turret with telescopic dry chemical tube and the 250 gallon per minute (gpm) ultra-motion fuselage penetration device
  • KNOCKDOWN with 3,000 gpm pump, electronic foam proportioning with patented ECOLOGIC® calibration system, a high-flow extendable turret device rated at 1500 gpm and the low-attack, high-flow 750 gpm RHINO® bumper turret with dry chemical discharge
  • POWER with an available Scania 770 HP engine that provides 2,215 foot-pounds of torque for greater acceleration
  • CONTROL and better braking performance with a variable-rate coil spring v-link suspension with standard front and rear sway-bars and 17-inch disc brakes
  • PAYLOAD capacity with 3,300 gallons of water and 500 pounds of auxiliary agent
  • SERVICEABILITY with a redesigned rear body providing ground level maintenance access from either side as well as the rear engine compartment of the vehicle

Teen admits to starting fire near Soap Lake

Grant County Fire Marshal Bruce Gribble says a teenager has admitted to starting Wednesday’s wildfire that damaged several structures near Soap Lake. One residence and three outbuildings were lost in the about 20-acre blaze started behind a home at 20070 Road B.5 Northeast. A pile of lumber also caught fire.

Arizona Firefighters Injured in Rollover

HAWTHORNE, NV (ABC15) - Officials say two Arizona firefighters who were returning home after battling the Carr Fire in California were involved in a rollover crash.

On Monday, the firefighters were on the way back from their assignment when their engine blew a tire and it rolled on U.S. Highway 95 just outside of Hawthorne, Nevada, a spokesperson said.

The men were extricated from the engine and airlifted to a Nevada hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Nominations Sought for 2019 George D. Post Instructor of the Year Award

Fire Engineering and International Society for Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) are seeking nominations for the 2019 George D. Post Instructor of the Year Award. This award is presented every year at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) International in Indianapolis. Next year's convention will be held from April 8-13.

Ths award recognizes individuals for extraordinary accomplishments in fire service training. The winner of the George D. Post Instructor of the Year Award

  • will have displayed a deep commitment to furthering the cause of the fire service through training;
  • will have advanced the cause of firefighter operational effectiveness and safety;
  • will have gone above and beyond the call of duty in training;
  • will have brought creativity and innovation to fire training programs, or will have shown great persistence in pursuing an innovative program; and
  • will have served as a positive model for other fire instructors and firefighters throughout the country.

Washington has the worst air quality in the country

Unhealthy smoky air from wildfires is blanketing the Northwest. The National Weather Service says Washington state had the worst air quality in the country Wednesday. In Chelan and Wenatchee the air quality Wednesday reached the hazardous level, prompting Chelan County officials to distribute masks.
