Fire destroyed a house in Aberdeen late Friday night, claiming the life of one person. The Aberdeen Fire Department said they found the body of someone believed to be living in the house. Aberdeen Police detective Kristi Lougheed said this person was the only one in the building when the fire happened.

Benton County Fire District Four is looking to lower response times and add a new station to help the West Richland community. Fire Chief Bill Whealan said response times in the area have hit 17 minutes which can be deadly. Whealan said the window of life for someone that has stopped breathing is six to 10 minutes.

A two-story clubhouse at an Edmonds mobile home park was heavily damaged in an overnight fire, officials said. Crews responded to the scene, the Ridge Acres Mobile Home Park in the 23100 block of Edmonds Way, at around midnight Sunday after receiving reports of smoke and flames there. Flames were shooting from the building when firefighters arrived.
