Texas firefighters aid 55 people found in tractor-trailer

Authorities found 55 people inside an air-conditioned tractor-trailer Tuesday night in a Northeast Side alley. San Antonio Fire Department Chief Charles Hood said firefighters responded to a call to aid police at 8:20 p.m. in an alleyway near the 8400 block of Laurelhurst Drive. Hood said the people found, including men, women and a few teens, were well hydrated.

‘I think I am going to die:’ Ohio Firefighter finds courage to speak of tragic fireworks accident

A Euclid Fire Captain says it’s still difficult to think about the July 3, 2016 fireworks accident that could have cost him his life. “Right after it happened, I remember thinking to myself that I think I am going to die and I don’t even know where I am or what happened,” said Fire Capt. Jay Northup.

Dallas Firefighters Battling Heat at Fire Stations

Station 1 on Irving Boulevard, for example, built in the 1970's, has an aging HVAC system that just can't keep up with summer heat. Firefighters there say when outside temperatures soar into the 90's, as they already have this spring, the inside of the fire station will reach as much as 85 degrees even with the air conditioning running non-stop.
