DUE TO ARRIVE NEXT SUMMER - A new 2,500-gallon pumper tanker (its schematics, above) is being purchased by the Perkiomen Township Fire Company from Sutphen Corp. in Dublin OH, volunteers proudly announced Tuesday (June 12, 2018) on its Facebook page. It is expected to be completed and delivered during Summer 2019, and features a 1,500-gallons-per-minute pump.

Firefighters gained control of a fire burning on the rooftop of a building in Seattle early Tuesday morning.
It was a deck fire on the rooftop of an approximately 13-story building at the 400 block of Fairview Avenue North, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The battalion chief on scene tells Q13 that they don’t know the exact cause, but believes it was accidental.

Responding to multiple incidents on Friday, June 15 was a powerful example of what long hours of training, effective communication, balanced coordination of resources, and invaluable medical direction can produce. Orcas Fire, SJC Dispatch, Island Air Ambulance, Airlift Northwest, and the Navy displayed coordinated efforts resulting in excellent outcomes for six patients in one day.

Firefighters in Amelia County are mourning the loss of one of their own after he died during a recent training exercise.
Amelia County Volunteer Fire Department Company 1 Chief Justin Wargofcak said William Moore IV, 48, of Amelia County, suffered a medical emergency and went into cardiac arrest Thursday, June 14.

The crowds hadn't yet arrived at Charleston 9 Memorial Park on Monday when Jacqueline Drayton introduced her son to the site where his grandfather died fighting a massive blaze 11 years ago.
They stopped at the memorial for Drayton's father, Charleston Firefighter James "Earl" Drayton. And one by one, they visited the plaques honoring the other eight Charleston firefighters who perished on June 18, 2007.
