FDNY determines cause of fire that killed firefighter on Harlem movie set

Authorities have revealed the cause of a fire on a Harlem movie set that killed a firefighter in March. Fire Marshals determined that heat from a boiler ventilation pipe ignited nearby combustible materials and caused the fire in the basement of a building on St. Nicholas Avenue. Firefighter Michael Davidson was trapped and killed.

Kelso firefighters in Hawaii to help during Kilauea eruption

Fire officials from Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue in Kelso, Washington are now on Hawaii's Big Island to assist with incident management of the Kilauea volcano eruption emergency. Fire Chief Dave LaFave and Battalion Chief Joe Tone arrived in Hawaii Sunday afternoon. They've already witnessed eruptive events up close.

Yakima Co. rescuers revive toddler pulled unconscious from muddy canal

A toddler who went missing from his home Tuesday is now being treated in a Seattle hospital after a desperate search found him unconscious in a muddy Yakima County canal. The incident unfolded around noon when emergency responders received a 911 call from a distraught family who said their 2-year-old boy had disappeared from their home on McDonald Road in Toppenish.

Spokane County: Two Freeman High School shooting first responders awarded EMS Hero award

Lieutenant Nate Hawley and Paramedic Amanda Austin of Spokane County Fire District 8 were awarded with Spokane County EMS and Trauma Care Council's EMS Hero awards on Tuesday. They were nominated and awarded for their flawless response to the Freeman High School shooting on Sept. 13 of last year. Hawley and Austin were the first two medics onto the second floor of the school where a gunman opened fire, killing one and injuring three others.

One Dead, Four Hurt in Accident Involving Ambulance in San Lorenzo (CA)

Officials say 74-year-old Catherine died after a frightening crash in the East Bay between a car and the ambulance taking her to a hospital on Monday.. 

SKY7 spotted the ambulance on its side at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Hesperian and Lewelling boulevards in San Lorenzo.

The Paramedics Plus ambulance was headed south on Hesperian with Catherine in the back. CHP spokesman Officer Dan Jacowitz said he did not know if the ambulance was driving with its lights and sirens activated.
