As Idaho city reels from mass stabbing, first responders look to peers for help

Boise Fire Capt. Rob Christensen listened to the victim count rise on his way to the scene of Saturday’s mass stabbing. Initially, his crew got the call for a stabbing, then he heard there were four victims and by the time he got there, he realized the crew of 11 Boise firefighters would be spread thin treating the nine victims.

Judge dismisses Virginia Beach firefighters' lawsuit on a technicality

A judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit filed by four Virginia Beach firefighters over a 2017 test-cheating scandal, saying he didn't believe he had the authority to rule on it. While Circuit Judge James Lewis told the firefighters he doesn't condone cheating, he agreed with attorneys for the city that he doesn't have jurisdiction in the case, said Andrea Ruege, an attorney for the firefighters.

Remarkable video captures intense house fire battle, dog rescue in California blaze

VIDEO - Stockton Fire Department released remarkable body cam footage Sunday showing firefighters battling a house fire and rescuing a caged dog who was trapped as flames approached. Firefighters were called out to the fire at a 2-story home on Chatsworth Circle on June 30, 2018. When crews arrived, the house was engulfed in flames and thick smoke was pouring from the roof.

Conrad Fire reaches over 5,000 acres, 20 percent contained

Firefighters say a wildfire between Naches and Selah has burned an estimated 5,200 acres. Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized state firefighting resources Sunday at 7 p.m. to help local firefighters battling the Conrad Fire burning at the Wenas Valley. State mobilization was authorized when flames had reached 1,500 acres.
