6 escape as flames destroy home in Everett

Six people ran to escape flames overnight after fire broke out at a home in Everett. Crews responded to the scene, near Maple Street and Everett Avenue, shortly after midnight Wednesday after receiving reports of smoke and flames billowing from the home. The home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

New Lynden fire chief fire chief chosen

A new fire chief has been chosen, and the police force is nearly at full strength again. The new chief will be Mark Billmire, now of McCall, Idaho, where he headed a fire force for six years until June. The Lynden City Council on Monday unanimously confirmed Mayor Scott Korthuis’s choice of Billmire, who will begin work here on Sept.

AFSA Seeking New President and CEO

The American Fire Sprinkler Association, a Dallas-based trade association, has begun the search for a passionate, collaborative and visionary leader for the position of its President and Chief Executive Officer.

AFSA was established in 1981 and provides the voice for the merit shop fire sprinkler industry on behalf of its membership of over 1,300 companies across the U.S and Canada. The President and CEO is responsible for the direction and leadership of the staff of 22 toward achievement of the Association's strategic goals and objectives set forth through a collaborative process between the board of directors and organizational team. The position calls for an extraordinary leader with exceptional communication skills, above-average financial acumen, a commitment and passion to the long-term success of the fire sprinkler industry, and the ability to foster collaboration and build consensus across diverse groups.

2 Colorado firefighters airlifted to hospitals after rollover wreck

VIDEO - Two Franktown firefighters responding to a house fire in Sedalia rolled in their water truck Tuesday evening and were airlifted to area hospitals in critical condition, a spokesperson for South Metro Fire and Franktown Fire told 9NEWS. Early Wednesday morning, Franktown Fire tweeted the condition of the two firefighters had improved.
