Firefighters found the body of a missing construction worker in the smoldering debris of a massive construction fire in Denver's North Capitol Hill neighborhood that injured six people and damaged surrounding buildings and vehicles. One person is still unaccounted for. Hundred-foot flames and smoke could be seen for several miles when Denver firefighters arrived on scene at 1833 Emerson Street around noon Wednesday.

For the ninth time, the city has sent a certified letter to attorneys representing the San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association to request the union meet with city negotiators to come up with a new contract between the parties. Day four of rescue efforts resumed Thursday morning in hopes of finding a Nashville firefighter who disappeared Monday morning after his truck plummeted into the Tennessee River in Humphreys County. Nashville Fire Department firefighter Jesse Reed, 32, went missing early Monday after his vehicle plunged into the water near Mason's Boat Dock in Waverly, authorities said.
