Fulton County fire department truck stolen, found in Maryland

Police in Cumberland received information just after midnight that the stolen brush truck was in their city. Brush trucks are generally large pickup trucks with boxes for gear in the back.

Police found the truck, then looked for Bruce. They found an online profile for him and then a Cumberland address near where the truck was found. Bruce eventually admitted to police he took the truck without permission, police said.

Traffic warning lights installed outside new Normal Fire headquarters

When travelling northbound on Main Street from Hovey Avenue, motorists will now see two sets of bright yellow signs that warn motorists that a fire station is ahead. The signs at Main and Osage streets are equipped with flashing yellow lights and white strobe lights which are activated by crews as they prepare to leave the station.

Eastside first responders reunite with man they saved

On Feb. 28, Sammamish resident Abhishek Choudhury and his family reunited with the dispatchers, firefighters and paramedics who brought him back to life three months ago. They gathered at Eastside Fire & Rescue in Sammamish. Choudhury was at home in late November of 2017 when he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and his heart stopped beating.

North Whatcom Fire and Rescue seeking reimbursement for transport of Medicaid recipients

North Whatcom Fire and Rescue (NWFR) is enrolling in a new state program that reimburses public organizations for transporting Medicaid recipients. The program, called Ground Emergency Medical Transportation (GEMT), was established as a result of House Bill 2007 that was passed by the state legislature during the 2015-16 session.

Feds sue Houston over sex discrimination, retaliation claims at fire department

The Justice Department has sued the city of Houston over sex discrimination claims launched by two female firefighters who say their male coworkers tormented them by urinating on the women's bathroom walls and sinks and scrawling vulgar slurs on their belongings. Male firefighters allegedly turned off the cold water in showers to scald their female coworkers and disconnected speakers to prevent women from responding to calls in a string of bad behavior that eventually escalated to death threats, according to the lawsuit.
