Spokane firefighters respond to blaze and save $700k in property

The Spokane Fire Department responded to a fire that allegedly started in a car and quickly spread to the garage and neighboring house. Around 12:15 a.m. SFD responded to the 4600 block of North Royal Court where they found heavy fire that threated the home and the neighbor’s home. Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines to tackle the main fire while other crews searched the residence, ventilated the structure, and ensured the fire did not spread.

Firefighters and police host water fight to benefit Quincy Special Olympics

Water was flying, and police and firefighters (and the occasional bystander) were getting soaked for a good cause Saturday morning at the “Fire and Cop on Top” event in Quincy. Quincy Police Department officers, firefighters from Grant County Fire District 3 and Washington State Patrol troopers had a water fight with anybody who decided to come by to benefit the Quincy Special Olympics.
