More resignations and problems for Onalaska Fire Department

In Lewis County, serious public safety concerns face the small community of Onalaska. First, members of the volunteer fire department started resigning in November, upset about the way things were being managed. Last week, Onalaska's fire station was shut down because of safety concerns. A notice from the Department of Labor and Industries is still posted on the front door of Lewis County Fire District 1.

Hillsdale (MI) Gets New Fire Apparatus

“The DNR [Department of Natural Resources], in conjunction with the military, [gives out] some of their surplus equipment,” said Hillsdale Township Fire Chief, Mike Rose. ”[As] fire departments, we can apply to them for equipment that they have.”

“We’re going to have the frame stretched out and we’re going to put a water tank on it,” said Rose.
