Sullivan (IN) Gets New Fire Apparatus

It cost $300,000 and the money came from the cumulative fire fund.

The Sullivan Fire Department now has three trucks and this new one is actually a pumper tanker, which means it can carry a lot more water.

"Usually we have just an engine tanker and it has 750 to 1,000 gallons of water. This is going to have 2,000 gallons of water," says Fire Chief Rob Robertson.

Bexar-Bulverde VFD (TX) Gets New Fire Equipment

Bob Wenzlau of Neighbors Abroad of Palo Alto, California, said a fire truck that appeared in video footage shot by an anti-corruption organization was not one of those donated.  

In fact, he said, the 1988 Seagrave pumper pictured had been purchased by state fire chief Manuel Alberto Maza Sánchez from the city of Torrance, California, on behalf of another city in Oaxaca. But that city decided not to buy it after all so Maza was storing the vehicle and trying to sell it, Wenzlau explained.

Fire Commissioners to consider EMS levy for Benton County Fire District #1

Waiting a long time for an ambulance in Benton County Fire District #1 could be over. The Board of Fire Commissioners for Benton County Fire District #1 is considering asking voters to approve a levy for emergency medical service (EMS). Funding would be used to purchase, outfit and staff two ambulances to respond to emergency medical service calls.

Firefighters battle house fire in Shoreline

Firefighters are at the scene of a house fire in Shoreline Tuesday. Firefighters were called to reports of heavy smoke at the home at Meridian and North 153rd Place at 3:39 a.m. The smoke was coming from the basement of the two-story home. A fire crew is looking for the source. The two people who live in the home are OK.
