A Longview fire Friday engulfed the 300 block of Beech Street in white smoke and took 30 minutes to extinguish, according to officials. Longview and Cowlitz 2 firefighters responded to the scene at about 4 p.m. and discovered that a workshop had caught fire and then spread to the house through a broken kitchen window, Battalion Chief Troy Buzalsky said Saturday.

An early-morning phone call may have saved the lives of residents when a fire broke out Saturday in a Pasco apartment complex. A resident at the Tri-Cities Vista Affordable Housing complex called property manager Adelita Alvarado around 2:30 a.m. to say something was going on at the building and she needed to get out there.

One person was found unconscious after a fire broke out inside an apartment in Bellevue early Friday morning. The fire broke out in a first floor apartment just before 6 a.m. In the 14500 block of SE 24th Street, according to Bellevue Fire officials. The victim was found in the hallway by fire. Medics were doing CPR on the victim as they were rushed to a local hospital, as of the last report by Bellevue Fire, but no other details about the victim's condition were given.

A fire in an abandoned home in Seattle's Ravenna neighborhood kept firefighters busy Friday morning. Flames were found shooting from the home in the 5600 block of Brooklyn Avenue just after 5 a.m. Firefighters had to fight the fire from the outside, eventually getting it under control within an hour.
