Volunteers interested in moulage training needed to help prepare Texas first responders

VIDEO: Sitting in the middle of a moulage training class is Anthony Saldivar, pouring vaseline, tissue and make-up on his model’s arm, making it look like it’s severely injured. It’s part of a basic moulage training class Saldivar volunteers to teach. “I get to make the living look dead and the dead look living,” said Saldivar, who’s also an embalmer and funeral director.

Follow-up: 'Multiple explosive devices' used in bombing at encampment outside Seattle hospital

VIDEO/PHOTOS: An explosion at a homeless encampment outside Harborview Medical Center in Seattle was the result of "multiple explosive devices" being detonated, possibly in connection to an ongoing battle for control of the drug trade among the homeless, according to a newly-released police report. The explosion happened Friday morning, July 21, at the encampment that sits between I-5 and the hospital in downtown Seattle.

The Newell Road fire causes families to evacuate, burning 56,000 acres

A fire of more than 50,000 acres has quickly spread across Klickitat County. The Newell Road Fire has now caused evacuations in the area. Emergency Management is now telling residents east of Dot Road to Alder Creek to evacuate the area if they have not already done so. Residents past Alder Creek are told to be prepared in the event of an evacuation.

Drought emergency declared in 12 Washington counties after early snowmelt, warm weather

Facing dry wells, water restrictions and risks to fish hatcheries and salmon migration, state officials declared a drought emergency Monday for watersheds spanning a dozen Washington counties. The declaration stems from a warm and dry trend and is expected to continue through summer, possibly into next year.

VIDEOS: 6 hurt when crane arm catches fire, collapses onto New York City street during morning commute

A crane went up in flames Wednesday morning high above Manhattan, then partially collapsed onto the street below. The fire broke out shortly before 7:30 a.m. on top of a 50-story building that was under construction on 10th Avenue between West 41st and 42nd streets in Hell's Kitchen. Mayor Eric Adams was on the scene to provide an update, along with the FDNY and Department of Buildings.
