HOPKINTON -- Community Bank N.A. recently presented Hopkinton Fort Jackson Fire Department with a $1,000 donation to help fund the purchase of a new utility task vehicle.

This purchase will allow the department to transport emergency medical personnel directly to any emergency in limited access areas.

(Twitter/BCGovFireInfo) Yukon government will donate $25k, while Whitehorse is mulling its own contribution By Jackie Hong The Yukon is sending money and firefighting equipment down to British Columbia to aid the province in its fight against wildfires raging across the Interior.

The Yukon government will donate $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, which is supporting tens of thousands of B.C. residents displaced by the fire. The territorial government will also be sending down 40 pumps to help with firefighting efforts, Premier Sandy Silver announced in Edmonton July 17.

Alton Fire Department to Receive Over $800,000 in Federal Funding for Firefighter Resources | RiverBender.com

CHICAGO - U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded a total of $2,695,377 to communities across Illinois through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.
The AFG Program provides first-responder organizations with the access to much-needed emergency response equipment, firefighting and emergency vehicles, personal protective equipment and training in an effort to create safer, more prepared communities.

Littleton Fire Station Expansion Project Progresses

The Littleton Fire Station expansion project on Foster Street will be completed in December 2017. Work is progressing at the Littleton Fire Station expansion project on Foster Street with everything continuing on schedule and on budget. "The fire station project is making great progress and all trades continue to move forward in a positive manner," Littleton Fire Chief Scott Wodzinski said.

The expansion project is expected to be completed in December 2017.


Town officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at the Foster Street station on a snowy Saturday in December 2016 and work began that month. Since then, the four new apparatus bays facing Wilderness Road have been erected as well as the new training room.

Fire/EMS Purchases Land for New Station

The land that once housed a popular restaurant south of Jackson will be the new location of Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Station 3. The purchase was made official June 30, Battalion Chief Matt Redwine said. The price tag came in at just under $1.3 million.

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS outgrew its Hoback fire station years ago, Redwine said. And because the property at Hoback Junction is deed restricted, purchasing land that is not gives the department options to expand and even include employee housing.
