Exclusive look inside the town hall meeting deciding the future of Clarkston Fire Dept.

Wednesday night Clarkston City Council held a town hall meeting, encouraging citizens to voice their opinions about the future of the Clarkston Fire Department. Tempers flared and emotions were high as many pleaded for the city to keep their trusted department. "I’m a volunteer with the Clarkston Fire Department, and you guys answered a previous question saying no one would be losing their job, but if we switch over to Lewiston I would actually be losing my job.

Hold on, baby! Mother nearly delivers infant on Valley Freeway near Pacific

Troopers had their hands full -- almost literally -- trying to assist a mom who went into labor a bit earlier than expected while on the Valley Freeway Thursday morning. Troopers received a report around 6 a.m. that a mother was on her way to the hospital in labor, but didn't think she was going to make it before the baby was born.

Frying donuts spark two alarm apartment fire in Pullman

A Washington State University student who was frying donuts in his apartment kitchen Tuesday night apparently sparked a two-alarm fire in Pullman. By the time firefighters from Pullman and Whitman County arrived at the Cougar Crest Apartments at 2024 NE Terre View Drive at 7 p.m. the apartment was in flames.

Fairchild Air Force Base ending use of hazardous fire-extinguising foam

Crews at Fairchild Air Force Base are changing the way they handle petroleum fires to avoid contaminating the area's water supplies. The base has stopped using a pair of flame-smothering chemicals to protect ground water both on and off the installation. You would assume that with all the re-fueling that Fairchild does, the most likely contaminant out there would be gas for jet engines.
