Cause of Richland house fire unknown

A Richland home was damaged in an early afternoon fire Saturday. Firefighters discovered heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear corner of the home at the 200 block of Delafield Avenue, Richland Fire Department Battalion Chief James Hempstead said. Richland fire, along with Benton County fire districts 1 and 4, extinguished the blaze within an hour.

USDA report gives insight into conditions during Twisp River fire

A new report is giving new insight into the Twisp River fire that killed three firefighters during the summer of 2015. On August 19, 2015, three wildland firefighters got trapped when the wind suddenly shifted and their engine got overrun by flames. Richard Wheeler, Andrew Zajac and Tom Zbyszewski were killed.

Everett paramedics, doctors can share patient records with new system

Diagnosing a patient is not always a clear science. A new electronic medical-records system is making this process more accurate and safer. After three years of planning, Fire District 7 partnered with Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in November to launch a system that allows emergency response personnel and doctors to share patient health records in near real time.

Kennewick home damaged in Saturday afternoon fire

A Kennewick residence was damaged during a Saturday afternoon fire. The fire started at roughly 12:30 p.m. at a home in the 1800 block of South Rainier Street. A resident was using a propane heater in the garage while he worked on a vehicle, Kennewick fire Capt. Nathan Rabe said. He went inside, and when he returned he found the garage on fire.
