Charleston Reservists Take Donated Fire Apparatus to Guatemala

Reservist from the 300th Airlift Squadron flying a Joint Base Charleston C-17 Globemaster III delivered a donated fire truck from south Florida to Guatemala. The fire truck was donated by the city of Coral Gables, Florida, who recently added a new fire truck to their inventory.
he Joint Base Charleston Reservists flew to Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida, to pick up the cargo. After working several hours with ground crew there to load the donated vehicle, the crew was able to deliver it to La Antigua, Guatemala.

Since 1993, Coral Gables and La Antigua have been sister cities for cultural exchange and opportunity to expand business relationships.

This humanitarian cargo delivery was made possible by the Denton Cargo Program.

Monroe to vote on fire district merger with Clearview

Two Snohomish County fire districts have signed off on a proposed merger. The merger of Fire District 3 in Monroe and Fire District 7 in Clearview now is scheduled for the primary ballot in August. Monroe-area voters have to approve the merger before their fire district can be absorbed. The change does not require a vote from Clearview-area voters.

Lynwood: Verdict reached in trial of man accused of setting ex-wife on fire

A jury has found David Morgan guilty of setting his ex-wife on fire and nearly killing her. This was Morgan's second trial for attempted murder and arson. His first trial ended in a mistrial on Feb. 29. Morgan's ex-wife, Brenda Welch, went to Morgan's Lynnwood home in November 2014 to pick up their daughter.
