A Lincoln Fire and Rescue captain has sued the city and the fire department's top brass alleging they retaliated against him for reporting harassment of recruits in 2011 and that he continues to get passed up for promotions because of it. One person was killed after they became trapped in a house fire in Tacoma's Stadium district early Wednesday morning. When crews arrived at north 6th and Stadium Way, flames were shooting out of the second floor of the building. A witness told firefighters that there might be someone inside. Crews found one person, who was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
