A man was rescued by helicopter Thursday after being trapped for four days on a cliff near Mud Mountain Dam in the Enumclaw area, emergency officials said.
The rescue effort was launched after an Army Corps of Engineers employee heard the man shouting for help.
A rescue crew responded in a King County Sheriff's helicopter.

A few short months from now, federal and state foresters around the West will purposely set controlled burns to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires later. This is a regular practice in Oregon, Idaho and California, but much less common in Washington state.
Land managers in Idaho fight fire with fire nearly twice or three times as often as in neighboring Washington.

Firefighters ran into trouble as they responded to an overnight fire at a commercial building in Shoreline - the nearest hydrant was broken.
The battalion chief says a car hit the hydrant earlier this week and it hadn't been fixed yet. So crews scrambled to find another hydrant in the area.
A small apartment was destroyed in the two-alarm blaze, across the street from Carter Subaru at 17225 Aurora Ave N.
