Fire officials: Two injured, trapped in small plane crash at Port Townsend golf course

Two people were seriously injured when their small plane crashed at a Port Townsend golf course Monday afternoon. East Jefferson Fire officials first tweeted at 1:35 p.m. that a small plane crashed at the Discovery Bay Golf Course in the 7400 block of Cape George Road. A witness told authorities that the Cessna-type plane stuttered and appeared to lose power before crashing into heavy brush just north of the 17th hole tee box.

A 20-year-old woman injured in the crash between a charter bus and 'Ride the Ducks' vehicle has died Sunday, Susan Gregg with Harborview Medical Center said. The woman's death raises the number of deceased victims to 5. Dozens of other students were also injured in the crash, and 13 victims are still recovering in Harborview, Gregg said.

Amphibious Tour Vehicle Lacked Axle Fix Before Seattle Crash

A Seattle duck boat that swerved into an oncoming charter bus, killing five people and injuring dozens, did not have an axle repair that was recommended for at least some of the amphibious tour vehicles in 2013, federal investigators said. Ride the Ducks International, which refurbished the vehicle in 2005, warned its customers two years ago about potential axle failure and recommended a specific repair or increased monitoring, National Transportation Safety Board member Earl Weener said at a Sunday news conference.
