Florida Firefighters Mow Man's Lawn After Coming to His Rescue

PHOTO - A group of Florida firefighters are being praised after photos of them mowing the lawn of a man whose home they had been called to went viral. The first responders - Capt. Daniel Papa, Driver Engineer Eugene Mobley, Firefighter Scot Kortright, Firefighter Timothy Sinnott, Firefighter Joseph DePiero and Fire Explorer Jordan Gennusa – responded to a 911 call late Saturday afternoon at the home of Ralph McCrory in Spring Hill, Fla.

Vending Machines To Help Tulsa Fire Save Money On Medical Supplies

Vending machines will soon be installed in several Tulsa Fire Stations, but they won't be carrying chips and candy. Instead, they'll have medical supplies. Fire department officials said it will save them 30 to 40 percent off their normal medical supply costs. One of the new vending machines will be at Station 22.

In unusual choice, Florida town wants fire chief to lead police

Since city of Dunnellon Police Chief Joanne Black abruptly resigned in late April, the goal has been to find a way to replace her. Achieving that task took multiple twists and turns. One school of thought was to replace the police department with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Another was not to hire a police chief at all, and instead have the fire chief assume both roles as fire and police chief by becoming the public safety director.

Documents: Winds shifted minutes before firefighters killed in Washington wildfire

Seven minutes after a deputy radioed that the wind from a growing wildfire had shifted direction, dispatchers got a second call: A burn victim needed an ambulance. Connecticut Lieutenant Arrested Over Confrontation With Ranking Officer

A city firefighter has been charged with second-degree breach of peace in connection with an incident at a fire earlier this month. According to Hartford police, Lt.
