West Richland Home Catches Fire

Around 2:45 on Monday, a garage attached to a West Richland home caught fire. The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident, neighbors called 911 to report the fire. When firefighters arrived to the scene, there were flames and smoke visible from the outside of the garage. According to Captain Ed Dunbar of Benton County District 4, there were 24 agents who responded to the call.

Fewer sparks from skies more from human hands for 2015 wildfire season

With the start of cooler weather comes the end of another wildfire season in our area. KEPR reports on the costs and trends from the 2015 fire season. Bill Kwaiser was one of many people whose properties were singed by a wildfire this fire season. He lives off of state route 224 in Benton city where a large fire came right up to his drive way "There was a lot of flames and a tremendous amount of smoke," described Kwaiser.
