The Boise-based National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has released a public service video urging the public not to fly drones over the scene of wildfires as a growing problem worsens. "Unexpected aircraft, even small drones over a fire, puts lives at risk," says the video's narrator. "No drone flight or video is worth a life.

Almost two months after his arrest for allegedly stealing nearly $240,000 from the fire district he once headed, Michael Denardo is preparing to accept a plea agreement. He's also making plans to return the money, said his lawyer, Jesse Squier, on Wednesday. "By the time of sentencing, it will be made whole," Squier said.

A quick-thinking neighbor spotted a house fire in Lynnwood Wednesday night and helped the three residents escape the blaze. A resident in the 18700 block of 40th Avenue West noticed a fire at a neighbor's home at about 6:30 p.m. The resident ran over to the house and banged on the door to tell the homeowners about the fire.
