Dozens flee as fire sweeps through Bothell apartments

Dozens of people were evacuated overnight when fire broke out at a Bothell apartment building. At least one unit was destroyed and several families have been forced out. Crews responded to the scene, the Canyon Pointe Apartments at 1630 228 Street Southeast in Bothell, at about 3:45 a.m. after receiving a report of flames spewing from a unit in the complex.

Firefighter bitten by bear while working Alaska wildfire

A firefighter battling a blaze in the Chugach National Forest is being treated for minor injuries after a run-in with a bear Monday night, fire officials said Tuesday. The man was bitten by the bear as he fought the Juneau Lake Fire, according to a statement posted on the Alaska Wildland Fire Information blog.
