A South King Fire and Rescue firefighter was injured on Fourth of July while battling a house fire.
Firefighters responded to a house located in the 900 block of SW 346th Court in Federal Way after a 911 call came in at 3:38 p.m. that day.
Firefighters pulled down the ceiling to make sure there was no fire between the sheet rock and roofing, according to Capt.

When it charred more than 250,000 acres last summer, the Carlton Complex wildfire became the largest in state history. And this summer, it's prompting a change to state law. On July 24, House Bill 2093 takes effect in Washington. The state received a lot of criticism over its response to the Carlton Complex fire, because some people felt the Department of Natural Resources' response was far too slow.

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a person near the start of the Sleep Hollow fire. QUICK FACTS:
30 structures burned in fire
Thousands evacuated
Cause of wildfire still unknown
Nearly 3,000 acres burned
A white Toyota pickup was reportedly in the area driving westbound at or near the time when the fire began.

Fire started by fireworks destroyed a machine shop in the Everson area early Sunday, July 5, but firefighters were able to save a nearby barn and home. Chief Mel Blankers of Whatcom County Fire District 1 said several members of his all-volunteer fire department were staffing a station because of the hot, dry weather and provided a quick response to the fire at 278 Reed Lane, near Blair Drive.

A Connell man has been arrested in connection with the murders of two people found badly burned in a remote part of Franklin County. Prudencio Flagos-Ramirez, 25, has been booked into the Franklin County jail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, Sheriff Jim Raymond confirmed Saturday. He was originally arrested on unrelated charges hours after the adult and child were found down a ravine near Scootney and Hendricks roads, Raymond said.
