Mission Statement

The objectives of this Division shall be to further enhance the education of all Fire Service Administrative Support by conducting workshops and seminars; to increase the proficiency of Fire Administrative Support by establishing a network sharing of information systems through various channels of communication; and to faciliate a statewide standardization wherever possible in all phases and aspects of the Fire Administrative Support field for the benefit of the Fire Service.

A federal judge refused a request Thursday, Aug. 6, from San Bernardino city firefighters to stop the city from moving forward with plans to contract out for fire services. After months of public battles, the city reached a deal with the firefighters union Thursday on the partial restoration of disability benefits — while also agreeing on a tentative seven-year employment contract. The pension deal would restore firefighters hired after 2009 to a 75 percent retirement benefit if injured — up from 50 percent of final salary — but would require they contribute an additional 3 percent of their pay to help fund it.
