Mission Statement

The objectives of this Division shall be to further enhance the education of all Fire Service Administrative Support by conducting workshops and seminars; to increase the proficiency of Fire Administrative Support by establishing a network sharing of information systems through various channels of communication; and to faciliate a statewide standardization wherever possible in all phases and aspects of the Fire Administrative Support field for the benefit of the Fire Service.

Pilots’ families say Cal Fire owes them death benefits

Federal judge says bankrupt Calif. city can move forward with outsourcing fire dept.

A federal judge refused a request Thursday, Aug. 6, from San Bernardino city firefighters to stop the city from moving forward with plans to contract out for fire services. The proposal to turn over the fire department to an outside agency is a key element of the city’s bankruptcy plan, which relies heavily on outsourcing some city functions.

Family of girl run over after Asiana crash drops suit against San Francisco

The parents of a 16-year-old girl run over by San Francisco Fire Department rigs after she was ejected during the 2013 Asiana Airlines crash dismissed their wrongful death lawsuit against the city. New York City inks benefits deal with firefighters union

After months of public battles, the city reached a deal with the firefighters union Thursday on the partial restoration of disability benefits — while also agreeing on a tentative seven-year employment contract. The pension deal would restore firefighters hired after 2009 to a 75 percent retirement benefit if injured — up from 50 percent of final salary — but would require they contribute an additional 3 percent of their pay to help fund it.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the New Orleans City Council have until Aug. 21 to begin paying firefighters a judgment worth a potential $142 million, or they will be held in contempt, a Civil District Court judge told officials Thursday (Aug. 6). The Three Rivers Fire Chief Scott Turner has filed an Open Meeting Law complaint against the committee that supervises him. According to the Turner complaint, the board met on June 10 in executive session to discuss problems they had with him – without informing him, nor inviting the chief to attend that closed door meeting.
