Mission Statement

The objectives of this Division shall be to further enhance the education of all Fire Service Administrative Support by conducting workshops and seminars; to increase the proficiency of Fire Administrative Support by establishing a network sharing of information systems through various channels of communication; and to faciliate a statewide standardization wherever possible in all phases and aspects of the Fire Administrative Support field for the benefit of the Fire Service.

Flames ripped through a Seattle neighborhood early Thursday, heavily damaging three homes, scorching the garage of a fourth home and damaging two other structures. More than 100 firefighters responded to the intense blaze, which lit up the sky over Maple Leaf. Two families were burned out of their homes and the intense heat blew the windows out of a nearby church.

Flames raced through a downtown Renton business complex Thursday morning, sending a gusher of smoke skyward that was visible from nearby Interstate 405. Crews responded to the two-alarm blaze just before 5 a.m. after receiving a report of smoke and flames at the building in the 200 block of Main Avenue South in Renton - only about a block away from the fire station.

A quick-thinking neighbor spotted a house fire in Lynnwood Wednesday night and helped the three residents escape the blaze. A resident in the 18700 block of 40th Avenue West noticed a fire at a neighbor's home at about 6:30 p.m. The resident ran over to the house and banged on the door to tell the homeowners about the fire.

o talk about an increase in brush fires, the Seattle Fire Department scheduled a news conference Wednesday morning at Discovery Park. It got off to a late start, however — because of a brush fire in Discovery Park. With a burning example just down the street, Seattle fire officials said 225 brush fires have been reported in Seattle from June 1 through July 21, a 178 percent increase from the same time last year.

n a little over an hour, firefighters through out Yakima were sent to three different fires, stretching their resources thin. The first fire was called out around 2:30 to the 900 Block of Conestoga Boulevard for a house on fire. Then moments later a call came in to the area of Pecks Canyon Road and Scenic Drive.

Hot and dry conditions this summer are keeping firefighters across Washington state busy fighting brush fires and wildfires. The flames cost time, manpower and resources. Dry grass is the kind of thing keeping crews busy along highways, in fields and yards. Firefighters say the answer isn't complicated -- we need rain.

In a field on the outskirts of Spokane, Wash., Peter Goldmark points across to a charred, rocky hillside where the Little Spokane fire burned dangerously close to the city limits earlier this month. He says the wildfire was relatively small but had huge potential for destruction. Like many Western cities, greater Spokane has been home to rapid growth in recent years, and the forests surrounding the footprint of the Little Spokane blaze are cluttered with subdivisions, shopping centers and golf courses.

Patients in Samaritan Healthcare may see a different ambulance when they travel between hospitals. The Moses Lake City Council approved an agreement with the firefighters union to temporarily stop transporting non-emergency patients from Samaritan Healthcare. Interim City Manager Gilbert Alvarado said the agreement is contingent on American Medical Response (AMR) handling the transportation from the hospital.

This has been one of the hottest and driest summers on record in the state of Washington, causing fires to pop up almost everywhere in the western part of the state. The new station stands in a critical location on duportail street near queensgate in one of the fastest growing areas in richland.
