Mission Statement

The objectives of this Division shall be to further enhance the education of all Fire Service Administrative Support by conducting workshops and seminars; to increase the proficiency of Fire Administrative Support by establishing a network sharing of information systems through various channels of communication; and to faciliate a statewide standardization wherever possible in all phases and aspects of the Fire Administrative Support field for the benefit of the Fire Service.

The Mount Adams Complex of small fires in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest was reported to be 83 percent contained this morning. The Spiral Fire, which burned an acre of timber in the Big Lava Bed north of Willard, has been put out. Crews are mopping up hotspots on the 63-acre Riley Fire, one of the small fires of the Mount Adams Complex on the west side of Mount Adams Wilderness.

Yakima County Fire Officials say just after midnight on Tuesday, about 850 bales of hay caught fire threatening a nearby house and shop. When firefighters got to the scene at Hidden Valley Dairy on Bond Road just south of Mabton, they say 90% of the haystack was on fire. At first, crews decided to focus on protecting the house and shop that were less than 50 ft.

A 16-year-old girl survived a small-plane crash that killed her step-grandparents in the rugged mountains of north-central Washington state and then hiked through thick forest to safety in what a rescuer called a miracle. Searchers still are looking for the wreckage, but Autumn Veatch says Leland and Sharon Bowman of Marion, Montana, died in Saturday's crash, according to Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers, who spoke with the girl.

A minivan collided head-on with an SUV full of eight teens near Onalaska on Monday night, leaving two dead and four others hurt, and investigators say alcohol is likely to blame. The Land Rover SUV was heading east on Highway 508 with four 18-year-old men and four 13-year-old girls inside when it collided with a Ford minivan approaching from the opposite direction.

Firefighters battled a large brush fire near Lipoma Firs Golf Course in the Pierce County Monday night. Orting Valley Fire and Rescue said it was contained by 10 p.m. A huge smoke plume from the fire could be seen for miles at the height of the fire. Some homes in the area were on standby for evacuation.

Fire crews battling multiple fire across the Washington have been stretched thin and a shortage of volunteer firefighters has led to an even bigger workload for existing crews on the front lines. The Pasco Fire Department says they are investigating a series of suspicious fires, the most recent three happening Monday morning. Firefighters say around 5:01 a.m. they were called to the area of 20th and A St. near the bike path for a brush fire. The fire burned an area about 20 ft. by 20 ft. No property was damaged and just sage and grass was burned.

The Douglas County Complex fire has now burned 22,212 acres and is 55% contained. There have been no reports of structures lost or injuries at this time. Crews were able to keep the north fire near Jamieson Lake with in the fire perimeter as they worked to strengthen fire lines. Firefighters on the south fire worked closely with multiple aircraft and dozers to establish and maintain fire lines.

Firefighters say they have a line around the 130 acres, lightning sparked Cheney Plaza Fire. It broke out Sunday afternoon about a half mile southeast of the Turnbull Wild Refuge. Fire officials say about 155 people were working the fire. Firefighter Mike McKinley was one of those who raced to stop the fire.

Investigators say "smoldering material" on the front deck was the cause of a fire that damaged a single-story home, and left several pets unaccounted for. Firefighters raced to the 25100 block of 142 Avenue SE around 8 a.m. to find the front deck on fire, and flames quickly spreading to the rest of the home.
