The fire station in Champaign (IL) was hit by several bullets late Saturday night (Oct. 9), according to a report published by television station WCIA.

According to the report, the incident was first notice by firefighters as they responded to a call between 5 and 6 o’clock and spotted a hole in the garage door window and, upon further investigation, they noticed several other bullet marks on the building.

The television station reported no one was hurt in the incident and the gunfire, although is a little unsettling to those who are sworn to protect and serve the community, it did not affect response times or services provided by the station.

An investigation is underway to determine who fired shots at the firehouse and why, according to WCIA.

Burnsville Fire Department is hosting an open house to say goodbye to a fire station, reports Patch.com.

The fire department is moving to a new 44,000-square foot fire station in November. The new building is estimated to cost $18.6 million. Features include living units with bathrooms, noise-insulating walls, a selective alarm system to wake only those who are needed, and more. It will also feature 10 apparatus bays, training areas and administrative spaces.

The existing fire station is expected to remain operational.

An East Keansburg Fire Co. fire engine was damaged after crashing into a guardrail, reports Monmouth Daily Voice.

No one was hurt in the accident but the fire truck reportedly sustained damage.
