Historic MI Fire Station Renovated; on Market for $1.6M

Video via property realtor Alicia Kramer’s YouTube page

A firefighter who never wants to leave the fire station may never again have to, as a historic station in downtown Holland (MI) was renovated for residential living and is on the market.

Listed on the National Historic Registry, the 4,792-square-foot station—which comes with its brass pole and bell tower—is located at 106 E 8th St. and was built in 1883.

The upstairs residential space has much of its original wainscoting in the living and kitchen space, and the tin ceilings are still intact.

The asking price for former station is $1.6 million; the listing can be seen here.

“The renovations and updates kept historic preservation of these valuable materials in mind when creating the 2 bed 2 bath layout,” property realtor Alicia Kramer says. “Spacious dimensions offered in living, kitchen & dining design.”

Rockingham (NC) Fire Department Takes Delivery of 2022 E-ONE Pumper-Tanker

The Rockingham (NC) Fire Department recently took delivery of Engine 3, a $475,750 E-ONE truck, reports richmondobserver.com.

City officials say the truck was purchased via funds from the American Rescue Plan.

The engine was built as a demo model and was about 40% complete when the department got the ball rolling on the purchase this past summer, the report says.

The apparatus will replace old Engine 3, a 1989 Mack, and serve as a pumper-tanker. The predecessor will be retired from the 12-vehicle fleet. Officials expect it to be ready for service by early December, following some finishing touches.

Hawleyville (CT) Volunteer Fire Company Puts into Service Tanker 339

Hawleyville (CT) Volunteer Fire Company officials this weekend put into service the department’s new Tanker 339.

Tanker 339—with a 3,000-gallon tank and a 1,000-gpm Hale pump—was designed with a six-person cab, far larger than the two-person apparatus that have recently made their way to neighboring companies, a report says.

Its predecessor is a 1989 Pierce four-person open cab and served as a trade-in for Tanker 339.

The acquisition of this apparatus completes a program of tanker replacements that began about six years ago, the report says.
