The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Rockingham County (VA) Fire Station Looks to Expand

Indeed, the fire station — comprised of volunteer and paid staff — is situated just southeast of Harrisonburg, where there has been considerable growth over the past couple of years.

Tulalip Tribes (WA) Pays for Fire Apparatus

District 15 contracts with the Tulalip Tribes for fire and emergency medical services across a large portion of the Tulalip reservation. The district’s budget comes from property taxes, the Tulalip Tribes and EMS transports.  

The new truck is a demonstration unit with only 7,000 miles on the odometer. The new engine has a larger capacity fire pump than previous trucks owned by District 15. The engine is physically larger, too, and it has the ability to carry more equipment and includes more safety features to protect firefighters.

Repairs Approved for Ann Arbor (MI) Fire Apparatus Previously Hit by Vehicles

The City Council voted 9-0 to approve a $79,392 emergency purchase order to cover repairs to Tower 1, which was badly damaged on the evening of July 31.

 

According to the city, the Ann Arbor Fire Department was responding to a single-vehicle crash on westbound I-94 at the Jackson Road interchange shortly after 11 p.m. and Tower 1 was in a "park to protect" position to protect emergency responders, including Huron Valley Ambulance and Michigan State Police, when it was hit. According to the city, no emergency responders or civilians were injured, though Tower 1 sustained considerable damages
