The purpose of the Fire Mechanics Section is to promote standardization of fire apparatus and equipment preventative maintenance, improve safety standards and practices, promote workshops, conferences, and seminars related to the purposes of this Section, and to promote cost savings through standardization of building and equipment purchasing and maintenance.

Department Secures $500k Pumper Truck

A committee of five firemen began the process of getting a new truck three years ago by assembling a list of specifications and drawing a draft of the truck. They shopped around at different manufacturers, and Ferrara Fire Apparatus placed the cheapest bid and was awarded the work in November. The new truck — which can pump 1,750 gallons of water per minute and has a 750-gallon water tank — was paid for with funds from both the Town of Ferdinand and Ferdinand Township. The total cost of the new truck was $499,178.

Perkiomen Company Orders New Pumper Tanker - The Post

It is expected to be completed and delivered during Summer 2019, and features a 1,500-gallons-per-minute pump. It will succeed the company’s 1998 HME pumper tanker, still in regular service.
